About

Hello everyone!

Welcome to CiaoMary. We’re glad you found us.

M+M at Southampton
We are Murray and Mary Sye. When we’re not off in another country, our home is in Toronto, Canada. And if we had our way, we wouldn’t be home too often. Actually we’re happiest when we’re on the road to anywhere.

We haven’t unloaded our house and sold all our possessions to do the travel thing, we both work to live out our passion and to do what we love most.

Travel.

We’re a happy, healthy couple in our 50’s, with a huge desire to experience as much of this world as we possibly can. And share those experiences with you.

We both come from marketing and sales background. Mary holds an executive position with a major utility company and I’ve spent my career in the crazy world of advertising and design. Waiting for our retirement? Well that’s not in our DNA. We believe the moment is ‘now’ to accomplish the things that you really want to do and we’re doing it – didn’t NIKE said it best, ‘Just do it.”

And, ‘Our bucket list is deep!’

We’re sponges to learn and explore the unknown. We love immersing ourselves in unfamiliar cultures, engage in a different language, savour local food, enjoy turquoise water and sandy beaches, domestic and international – to be immersed into space that allows us to enjoy all of this. We’re not rich, we’ve simply eliminated what we don’t need in order to feed our travel budget. We look for deals and shop travel sites just like anyone else. We save points, stay in Airbnb’s and buy cheap flights to help sustain our passion. We simply find a way.

If you like what you see and read, we’d love to hear from you, so don’t be shy, flip us a comment. And while you’re at it, why not join our mailing list. You’ll be the first to receive all the juicy details behind our latest trip.
